Senate Leadership
The Senate Leadership of the University at Albany Student Association comprises key individuals who guide and manage the Senate's operations and decision-making processes. The Clerk is responsible for documenting the minutes of each meeting. The Secretary organizes these meetings and ensures procedural adherence. The Chair directs the Senate, leading discussions and setting the agenda. The Vice-Chair assists in these tasks and leads in the Chair's absence, helping maintain effective representation of student interests.

SENATE LEADERSHIP |
Troy Serao currently serves as the Chair of the UAlbany Student Association Senate, bringing a deep commitment to transparency, inclusion, and student-centered leadership. As Senate Chair, Troy is responsible for guiding the legislative branch with fairness and clarity, ensuring every senator has the tools and structure to represent their constituents effectively.
Previously the Chair of the First Year Experience Committee, Troy revitalized a long-underused committee and built meaningful partnerships with ResLife and campus administration to elevate first-year and transfer student support. His leadership helped students feel informed, welcomed, and empowered from day one.
Now, as Senate Chair, Troy continues to champion open governance, uplifting voices that have often gone unheard, and creating a student government that reflects the energy, diversity, and ambition of the student body.
